Why We Age / Causes of Aging
When we hit our mid-20s, our skin starts aging naturally. Within the skin, collage production slows, making us look older; and elastin, the substance that enables our skin to snap back into place, has less spring, slowing the time it takes to spring back. Dead skin cells do not shed as quickly, and new skin cells may grow slowly, decreasing. Even though these signs do not show themselves typically for decades, smoking and extreme stress may depreciate your youthful glow much earlier than your midlife.
